Elisabeth (Beth) Hudgins
Trained as a watercolorist, Elisabeth (Beth) Hudgins maintains her love of transparency, and being able to see through layers of paint and elements. Now a more experimental painter, she enjoys seeing what happens when she layers different materials or pours paints and adds heat. Her goal for her artwork is to maintain a spontaneous and transparent quality, while capturing ephemeral moments of beauty.
Elisabeth began her art journey at a young age, inspired by her grandmother, a working and teaching artist. Awarded a bachelor’s degree in fine art from James Madison University, Elisabeth pursued a career as a graphic designer and art director. After her two children were born, she felt the need to reconnect with her creativity on a more personal level, and so began painting once again.
Elisabeth has served as president of Arlington Artists Alliance and has been a member of numerous other local arts organizations. In the past, Elisabeth was represented by The Artists Undertaking Gallery, Occoquan, Virginia; Stifel and Capra Gallery, Falls Church, Va.; and Gallery Underground, Arlington, Va. Currently, her paintings are on view at Alexa Scott Studio/Gallery, in Falls Church, and Gallery Underground, in Arlington.
Elisabeth’s work has won many awards, and her paintings have been featured in Elan magazine. In addition to participating in group shows, she has had solo exhibits throughout the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan Area. Elisabeth accepts commissions.

Linda Maldonado
Linda Maldonado is an experimental artist who works in acrylics, watercolor, and collage in pursuing a visual form for her ideas, imagination, spirit, and intuition. She uses texture, stamping, layers, and stenciling while keeping mindful of her chosen theme, creating artwork that both veils and reveals. Building on a background in traditional watercolor, portraiture in oils, and Chinese landscape painting, Linda now pursues new directions, thanks to an ever-expanding array of innovative art products.
Linda has taught numerous classes on acrylic mediums and collage, encouraging others to explore the artistic possibilities of these flexible and exciting methods and materials.
Linda is president of Potomac Valley Watercolorists and a member of Arlington Artists Alliance and the International Society of Experimental Artists.

Elise Ritter
Elise Ritter, who paints with acrylics, inks, and watercolor, is an award-winning member of Arlington Artists Alliance. Her art reflects her love of luminous and opalescent jewel-toned colors and the magical properties of light.
Elise’s work has been juried into the Potomac Valley Watercolorists and numerous statewide art exhibitions. Her paintings have been exhibited in the Virginia State Capitol (Richmond) and in many galleries throughout Virginia and Washington, D.C. In addition, her paintings have appeared in publications in Canada, the United Kingdom, and Portugal, and are included in collections throughout the United States, Germany, New Zealand, and China. Her work also has been sold to New York art consultants.
Elise has curated and participated in numerous solo and group shows, including “The Divine Feminine,” “Contemporary Artists Interpret Stations of the Cross,” “Vienna Gold,” “Luminous Grace,” “Illuminations,” “Reflections,” and “Everyday Miracles.” She also has had the privilege of showing her paintings at St. Michael’s in several earlier exhibitions.

Deborah Taylor
Like many painters, Deborah Taylor has studied the skills required for painting for several years but has had a passion for art and artistic expression all of her life. Becoming a painter involved a gradual change in the way she sees the world — with intention and curiosity.
Deborah’s artistic journey has taken her down several paths. One path that has been especially rewarding is to paint small, and often. For more than two years, she produced a painting each day, and wrote about the process on a blog. She is now a bit more relaxed about her daily practice and experiments with different techniques and media.
Deborah’s paintings can be found in private collections as well as several venues throughout the Washington, D.C., area. Her work also can be seen on her Website.
A native of the Washington, D.C., area, Deborah currently lives in Arlington, Virginia.
