You are witnesses of these things . . .
~ Luke 24:48

The Arts & Faith Ministry at St. Michael's Episcopal Church has been privileged to exhibit during the Lenten season a number of widely varying artistic interpretations of the "Stations of the Cross," a liturgical devotion to the Passion of Christ, known as "Way of the Cross" (Via Crucis) or "Way of Sorrows" (Via Dolorosa), which…

Margaret (Peggy) Adams Parker

St. Michael's Parish Hall

Description

As we pray the "Stations of the Cross," gazing and reflecting on each image, we stand as witness to Christ's suffering and death on our behalf. We do not often consider our daily acts of seeing in the same way but the 20th Centur…

Bearing Witness: Artist Statement

Almighty God, who hast given us the gift of sight, grant that we may see not only with the eyes of our head but with the eyes of our heart also, that we may perceive the beauty and meaning, of all that we behold, and glorify thee, the creator of all, who art blessed forevermore.
~ George Appleton

This prayer has been important to me…

Pray through the Stations with these Readings and Prayers excerpted from:

Margaret Adams Parker and Katherine Sonderegger, Praying the Stations of the Cross (William B. Eerdmans Publishing Co., 2019)

Bearing Witness: Experiencing the Stations

As you take your journey through the exhibit, which traces Jesus's own path from condemnation to burial in the tomb, let yourself be challenged to consider the questions that follow. The objective is to re-contextualize and renew your appreciation of this ancient and well-known story, so that it continues to speak to your imagination and to our understanding of our own theologica…

Service Times

Sunday Eucharist at St. Michael's is a comprehensive service of both Word and Sacrament. We read from the Bible, we recite or sing a psalm, and we listen to a sermon. Then we pray for the Church and the world, and we ask God's forgiveness for our sins. Finally, we greet one another in the peace of Christ and move to the sacramental service of the Holy Communion.

At services of Holy Eucharist, all baptized persons are welcome to receive holy communion. We also offer blessings to those who for any reason are not able or not comfortable receiving this sacrament.Children are always welcome at the communion rail. Learn more about Episcopal Worship
