Holy Listening Today at 4 PM
All parishioners are encouraged to participate in vulnerable conversation: Why is it so difficult to talk about race? Where do you find yourself in this conversation around race and justice? What does it mean to listen fully, without agenda? What does it mean to be so present for the truth of another that we lay down the need to react, correct, or respond? How can the act of listening—to God and to one another—be holy?
This Sunday, August 23, we will have a live speaker, The Rev. Sureshkumar, who has just finished a year of study at Virginia Theological Seminary. Rev. Sureshkumar serves at the Theological College of Lanka, in Sri Lanka, and will speak with us about Jesus on the margins. We will spend time engaging where the shared truth landed in your heart—not what you learned, but how it felt to be open to the truth of another. Each conversation will be grounded in scripture and Christian theology.
Sundays in August 23 (30) at 4PM on Zoom.
