Prime Time Lunch: Origins of Idioms—It Means What?
Join us, Thursday, February 2, for a potluck lunch in the parish hall. Gathering at 12:15 PM. Lunch at 12:30 PM. Bring a dish to pass and your own table service. (We won’t be washing dishes or relying on disposables.) Hot coffee and ice water provided. 1:15 PM: A reprise of a 2019 XYZ program that prompted lots of laughter—we’ll explore the origins of common sayings/idioms. What’s the meaning behind “crocodile tears”? Or “chip off the old block”? Or “from soup to nuts”? Together we’ll guess, learn, reminisce, and laugh. All are welcome, especially seniors. Contact: Evelyn Bence.
