Path Forward

St. Michael's has a long relationship with Path Forward (formerly Arlington Street People's Assistance Network) to help reduce homelessness for Arlingtonians. St. Michael's provides volunteers to support Path Forward’s Homeless Center and permanent supportive housing at Sibert House, 1124 N. Kennebec St. and at other nearby Fisher House apartments in Westover. We periodically donate new-resident welcome baskets, clothing, and toiletries for our homeless neighbors.

Engagement Opportunities:

In 2024, we hope to begin volunteering monthly to serve the evening meal at the Homeless Service Center and will be accepting donations to replenish our welcome baskets with cleaning supplies, paper products, and other items necessary for PathForward clients who are moving into apartments with supportive services in the Westover community.

More details on PathForward and opportunities to volunteer are here.

For the holidays, the parish contributed men’s underwear and gift cards to support PathForward clients.

St. Michael's served a Fall Picnic (Popeyes Chicken, sides, soft drinks and cookies) at Sibert House for our PathForward neighbors on Saturday, October 7, from 12 noon-2 PM. We served 5 residents who enjoyed the meal and were thankful to take home the leftovers.

Service Times

Sunday Eucharist at St. Michael's is a comprehensive service of both Word and Sacrament. We read from the Bible, we recite or sing a psalm, and we listen to a sermon. Then we pray for the Church and the world, and we ask God's forgiveness for our sins. Finally, we greet one another in the peace of Christ and move to the sacramental service of the Holy Communion.

At services of Holy Eucharist, all baptized persons are welcome to receive holy communion. We also offer blessings to those who for any reason are not able or not comfortable receiving this sacrament.Children are always welcome at the communion rail. Learn more about Episcopal Worship
